A. J. Baime’s books have made the New York Times bestseller list and the New Yorker best-books-of-the-year lists. They include The Accidental President: Harry S. Truman and the Four Months That Changed the World and the forthcoming Bird Men: The Rise of American Airpower and the Machine That Ended World War II. Baime is also the author of Rare Cars: The World’s Most Exclusive Rides, published by Assouline in 2024. Baime covered cars and motorsports for The Wall Street Journal from 2010 to 2025, and for twelve of those years, he wrote the weekly “My Ride” car column. He is an editor-at-large at Road & Track magazine, and he lives in Northern California with his family.
